With Western Australia experiencing an ongoing minerals exports boom, WA’s economy is growing rapidly, which in turn is fuelling the demand for skilled and unskilled labour, and boosting the state’s 1.7% annual population growth rate. And this growth is clearly evident in the Jandakot area in Perth’s thriving Southern Corridor – the southern suburbs between Perth and Mandurah.

The community is flourishing and families are flocking to the area, creating a relatively young population with a median age in Armadale, Canning and Cockburn of 35.2, 35.5 and 34.2 respectively (by way of comparison, Mandurah has a median age of almost 41). And the established trend of a growing young family-oriented population looks set to continue.

The average weekly income is on average $100 greater in comparison to other Perth areas, which bodes well for the City as a desirable and competitive location for business.
